Florida Institute of Technology Reuinion and Symposium 2007 Header

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to join us at the
Biological Sciences Reunion and Symposium, on January 25-27, 2008 at Florida Institute of Technology.

This is a wonderful opportunity to return home to Florida Tech and spend a weekend reconnecting with your fellow alumni, as well as participating in exciting scientific discussions. We look forward to showing off our state-of-the-art F.W. Olin Life Sciences and Physical Sciences buildings, and invite you to check out construction projects taking place throughout our campus, including a new life sciences building.

The theme for our scientific sessions is Finding Solutions to Biological Challenges. We’ll explore a series of rapidly emerging biological issues, spanning a cross-section of disciplines ranging from climate change, biofuels, and biowarfare to stem cells, neuroscience, cancer, and bioethics. Our panel discussions will focus on two specific areas; New Genetics: Implications and Applications, and Marine Populations: Challenges and Responses.

In addition, we invite you to showcase your own work at a poster session, which will feature research by alumni as well as current undergraduate and graduate students .If you’d like to participate, please contact Dee Dee Van Horn at dvanhorn@fit.edu.

Please submit a biographical note or recollection about your days in the department, which will be provided to all Biological Sciences alumni. Even if you can not attend the Reunion, we would like to hear from you, so please click here to submit your note, or use the link in the left sidebar.  A complete list of recollections is available online (click here).

Most importantly, this weekend will honor the contributions of Dr. Gary Wells, whose leadership has guided the successes of the Biological Sciences department over the past thirty years.

There is no charge for this event.

We look forward to seeing you in January!
