Friday April 18, 2008 from 7 -10 pm
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to join us at the Physics and Space Sciences Dedication of the Ortega 0.8-m Telescope at The Florida Institute of Technology.
Join us for an evening under the stars as we dedicate the largest research telescope in Florida and honor James and Sara Ortega for their contributions to astronomy and astrophysics at Florida Tech. We'll have a reception starting at 7 p.m. and dedication ceremony will start at 8 p.m. (sunset). Following the dedication, you'll have the opportunity to view Saturn, star clusters, and galaxies through the Ortega Telescope, as well as a number of small telescopes we'll have set up on our Observing Deck where the festivities will be held.
We encourage you to arrive early to tour our state-of-the-art F.W. Olin Physical Science Center, and invite you to check out the construction projects taking place throughout our campus.
Please let us know you plan on coming by clicking the Registration link at left, and filling in the short form. Space is limited for this event, so register early.
Even if you can not attend the Dedication, we would like to hear from you, so please click here to submit your note, or use the link in the left sidebar.
